Another year for the Thursday night ski paddlers of Dolls Point Paddlers (Which has literally been overrun by SSCC members). For the second year running we’ve watched new ski paddlers turn up at the start of the season, nervous about the waves and what happens if they fall off. Under the protective umbrella of the experienced paddlers they are encouraged to develop new skills and try themselves out on Botany Bay as the season develops. By the end of daylight savings when the winds of March and April are starting to run, the new crop of paddlers are ready for the howling downwinders that blast across Botany Bay.
The 2015/16 season is drawing to a close and ends as daylight savings ends, but next years challenge is to get the entire group ready for the Makai Challenge, part of the OpenWater Series.
