Updated for the 2016/17 season
There have been a few questions from members about the registration process for Australian Canoeing, PaddleNSW, and Sutherland Shire Canoe Club. Here’s a guide to membership renewals to help you through the process.
This guide is for renewing members. If you are a new member, the process is simpler – basically you select new member and PaddleNSW at step 1, and step 2 is skipped because you don’t have an existing account and password.
If you are looking for membership fees and the quick guide to joining or renewing read this first [link]
Before you start… you will need a credit card handy when you start.
Read the instructions all the way through, so you know what information you will need to complete the process. If you make a mistake or miss out a required field, and have to go back, double check everything you have already entered, some information will revert to default settings (ie your club may switch to Avoca Surf Club). While it is possible to register more than one paddler at a time, don’t try unless you are very confident with technology. The multiple registration process it is complicated, and easy to get jammed up to the point where you will have to start everything from scratch. It is simpler to register one paddler at a time.
Follow this link to Australian Canoeing to begin the registration process… (note that some screens will look slightly different due to options that are available to you)
Step 1. Click Renew Here for renewing members
Step 2. Enter your user name and password
If you don’t know your username you can click the “Forgot Password?” link below the login. You will be asked for for your email address. If you use the the email address you registered with PaddleNSW or Austrlian Canoeing, you will be sent an email with your Australian Canoeing username and an initial password. If you don’t have that email address, you can either register as a NEW MEMBER, or try contacting the Australian Canoeing help desk to find out your login details. You might be able to find an email from “email@example.com” with the subject “Australia Canoeing Membership”. Note that it is Australia, not Australian.
Once you’ve successfully logged in, you’ll see a profile page like this.
Step 3. Click on Renew your membership
Step 4. For Organisations, you should already have Australian Canoeing and New South Wales. Select “Sutherland Shire Canoe Club” as your club.
Step 5. Select Membership Type. For most people this will be “Adult – Renewing Member” If you don’t see any options here or you don’t get a price appearing below, check that you’ve selected the options in Step 4 correctly.
Step 6. Read and tick the terms and conditions. Then click the button “Go to payment summary”
Caution if you get anything wrong at this stage, you will get returned here. You need to check all of your settings have stayed the same, or you will have more problems.
Step 7. Check your club and membership type. Then select payment type and click “Complete Registration Now“. If it says zero dollars, keep going. It’ll be right on the next screen.
Step 8. Complete your credit card transaction through EziDebit.
You are now registered with Australian Canoeing and PaddleNSW which provides you with representation and insurance. You will receive a confirmation email from AC which contains your membership number, login and password. Keep it somewhere safe.
You are also registered as a member of the Sutherland Shire Canoe Club. Congratulations. You are renewed.
Footnote: For those who remember the old registration process where you joined PaddleNSW and then joined the club through RegisterNow. It’s all changed and there is only one registration which does it all in one place.
